Thomas Stearns Eliot: By far my favorite poet. One of the few who didn't put baseless exageration of feeling and imagery before meaning, depth, and most of all, emotion. He rhymes in a way that you don't really notice until it happens, and his rhythms remain smooth and well thought out. Other poets tend to strain for their pathetic rhyme which they in turn label "poetic license", it is said that the problem with poetry is that most poets are bad at writing it, truely an accurate sentiment. Reccomends: J. Alfred Prufrock, Portrait of a Lady, and The Four Quartets

Stephen Hawking: the most brilliant physicist of our time. While not encroachiing upon Einstein's status, he still has made invigorating advances in the mathematical sciences of physics. Hawking fused together two of Einstein's laws: Relativity, which Einstein was fundamental in forming, and Quantum Mechanics, which Einstein played a large part in creating. He also explored many a theory, such as that of imaginative time, and the GUT theory, Grand Unification Theory, basically a rule or set of rules which predominately predicts every event in the known universe. Other mathematical, and physical greats of our time: Richard Feynamn, Franz Lorenz, and Mushao Kenku. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
